8 Wrestlers You Didn't Know Were World Champions

3. Mistico

Mistico World Champ Before an unspectacular run as the WWE's Sin Cara, Mistico was a world star in lucha libre, having won titles around the world, most notably in Mexico and Japan. Most titles he'd compete for in promotions Super Welterweight, Lightweight, Middleweight or Junior Heavyweight due to his size, weight and agility as a competitor. However, Mistico still became a World Champion in his time in the Mexican promotion known as Festival Mundial de Lucha Libre, winning their FMLL World Championship in 2009. The promotion is not hugely well known and is second to Asistencia, Asesoría y Administración and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre when it comes to Mexican wrestling. If you look at Mistico's ability away from a WWE ring, he's a dazzling competitor when he's allowed to show off what he knows and is a surely beloved figure in Mexican wrestling. There's no doubt he's deserving of a world championship, albeit a lesser known one.
