There aren't many things in pro wrestling history that are red hot from day one of their inception to the moment they died out, but The Shield personifies this like nothing else. The nWo added and lost members so many times that it became a parody. Your opinion on the quality of WWE's dad joke era of DX might come down to personal preference, but whatever that may be, the Saudi Arabia last stand of Shawn and Hunter is something none of us can ever bleach from our memories. The Shield has no such blemishes. It is all killer, no filler, brother.

There is a massive misconception about Roman Reigns' role in the group, though. Because of the grating run of 'The Big Dog' and all of the fallout of his early solo runs, people often have the misconception that Reigns was the group's least popular member. That could not be further from the truth.

Roman received supernova reactions throughout The Shield's run, including being used as the "hot tag guy" in a lot of the trio's best six-man matches. The beauty of The Shield was that each of the three members brought something to the table. Smoother than your momma's butter, Reigns had the cool guy routine down to a tee and was the perfect foil for the psychotic Dean Ambrose and the peerless athleticism of Seth Rollins.
