8 Wrestling Moments EVERYONE Remembers Wrong
1. The Fiend Vs. Seth Rollins Hell In A Cell Ended In A DQ
One of the worst aspects of WWE's wobbly 2025 is some of the revisionist history floating around about the company's past booking. No matter what your feelings on Travis Scott or how much John Cena's Farewell Tour has underwhelmed, sometimes it's better to take a closer look at the pre-Boom period WWE before lamenting the past too much. No contest serves this purpose more than the Seth Rollins vs 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt disaster at Hell In A Cell 2019.
While everyone remembers the red light staying on for the match and Seth being made to oversell how scared he was, to the point he looked like the most feeble World Champion to ever hold the title, the finish of the match isn't quite as fans remember. Despite dropping an eye-watering 11 Curb Stomps to The Fiend and using an assortment of weapons, most people remember Seth being DQ'd after taking a sledgehammer to Wyatt.
Only that isn't the ending at all. The match was actually called as a "referee's stoppage" after referee Rod Zapata begged Rollins not to follow through with his heinous assault to no avail. So, while you may be correct in remembering everything about this encounter being a stinking turkey of a match, the ending needs to be recorrected in the public consciousness.
