8 Wrestling Statistics That Will Blow Your Mind

7. Sting Competed In 91% Of WCW PPVs

World Championship Wrestling -- including its National Wrestling Alliance predecessor -- held a number of pay-per-view events over the years. PPV became the way to go in the mid-1980s, and the subsequent decades saw WCW do battle with the WWE on both television and PPV. Ultimately, the WWE won the battle and WCW was put out of business. However, the company held 100 PPV events before going out of business. WCW mainstay, Sting, holds the record for competing at the most PPVs provided by the promotion. While the fact that the Stinger -- who never left the company and was frequently in the main event -- holds the record for the most appearances may not be shocking, it€™s the number of events he competed on that is. In total, Sting wrestled on 91 of WCW€™s 100 PPV events. Or, if you€™re a fan of percentages, he competed in 91% of all WCW PPVs. That€™s, frankly, an astonishing number of appearances. The only other wrestlers to come close to the Stinger are Lex Luger and the €œNature Boy€ Ric Flair, with 73 and 71 PPV appearances, respectively.
