8 WWE Dream Matches That Happened Way Too Late

6. Shawn Michaels Vs. Hulk Hogan

Shawn Michaels versus Hulk Hogan from SummerSlam 2005 was something of a fiasco. First, HBK had to temporarily play heel against his wishes in order to appease Hogan. Then Hogan sat at home while Michaels had to basically promote the match himself. Making matters a whole lot worse, Hogan refused to 'return the favour' to Michaels in a rematch, as planned. How did Michaels react to Hogan's egotistical and self-serving behaviour? By entering a truly comic performance during the match. He oversold most of The Hulkster's offense to the point of ridiculousness, turning the event into a farce. Perhaps it was no more than Hogan deserved. It's not like they could have had a genuine classic, mind. Hogan was so broken-down by 2005 that his opponents generally had to work around him and essentially just run into his punches and big boot. Had Michaels and Hogan clashed at some other time, say in the early 90s when Michaels was an IC-level player, things might have been different.
