8 WWE Dream Matches That Happened Way Too Late

1. Vince McMahon Vs. Bret Hart

Bret Hart versus Vince McMahon could have been one of the biggest matches in wrestling history. If it had have happened in a WWE ring before 2010, anyway. By the time the two enemies eventually had their big meeting, neither man could do much of anything and a lot of the heat from their rivalry had dispersed. Bret couldn't even take a back bump, thanks to a major settlement with insurance provider Lloyds of London (stemming from his career-ending concussions). Vince McMahon, never the most athletic of fellas, was good gimmick match performer when he had the right opponent but by the time 'Mania XXVI rolled around he was in his mid-60s. Vince had no business taking the beating he did that night. He absorbed a load of chairshots (and a Hart Attack clothesline on the floor) without offering much of anything in terms of a receipt. Has there ever been such a one-sided beating in a major match, save for Brock Lesnar versus John Cena from Summerslam 2014? If Bret and Vince had've squared off during the red-hot Attitude Era, when Bret was more functional and Vince was at his best as a heel personality, it could have been a great, gimmick-strewn brawl. In 2010, it was just two old guys beating each other up. It was sad.
