8 WWE Dropouts Who Revived Their Careers
2. Ricochet
There are few superstars as openly negative about WWE's practices after leaving as Ricochet. After being one of the hottest acts on the indies for years before being signed to WWE, there was much excitement about the world getting to see this new breed of high-flyer. Though he left a great highlight reel behind him (including a show-stealing spot with Logan Paul in the 2023 Royal Rumble that helped legitimize the social media superstar), WWE never really positioned Ricochet as a star attraction.
One of the chief reasons behind this was a perceived lack of mic skills and charisma. It's true that a performer can't get by without those things on WWE television, but the interesting part about that theory is that it seems less and less true with every passing month since Ricochet signed with AEW.
It's a fair comment that it's hard to envision Ricochet as AEW World Champion, but it's undeniable that his talents are better showcased in a company that prides itself on "where the best wrestle", and his mic work has improved immensely. How far Ricochet can take himself remains to be seen, but it's unquestionably better than being squashed by Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes.
