The story going into this match was that Chris Jericho was going to reveal his hand-picked replacement for injured partner Edge. There were many rumours going into the show and it created a sizeable amount of disappointment when it turned out to be The Big Show.

Despite initial reservations, the Jeri-Show team turned out to be a fine combination, adding a credibility to the championships and managing to avoid the feeling of being two singles dudes thrown together at the same time.

Much like Morrison and Miz the previous year, the division wasn't exactly thriving with challengers. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase were at the top of the list, but they also happened to be heels which led to the strange dynamics of a heel vs. heel title match.

The weakness of the division would be seen further down the line when Jeri-Show defended the straps against the undeniably poor duo of MVP and Mark Henry.

Anyway, back to the match. The all heel dynamic really hurt it, but the crowd got salvaged a little of this by getting behind Chris Jericho, because obviously. Jeri-Show would retain the titles, but once again this was nothing memorable.
