John Cena is lurking on the horizon, and that spells doom for Randy Orton's time as top babyface on SmackDown Live. Orton will squeeze one more pay-per-view out of his feud with Jinder Mahal when the pair go at it in a Punjabi Prison match at Battleground, but where does Randy go from there?

Could he feud with AJ Styles? Nope, Shinsuke Nakamura looks to have that one covered. How about facing Kevin Owens for the United States Title? That's a possibility, but it'd be a bit of an obvious demotion on the same brand. Instead, Orton would benefit from looking across to Raw.

One thing though, WWE: keep him away from Bray Wyatt when he gets there. There's no need to kick start that feud again any time soon.

Randy would be much better served working a short feud with someone like Samoa Joe. Then, he could parlay into facing The Miz for the Intercontinental Title. A short gap to let fans forget his WWE Title aspirations would eliminate any feelings of demotion.
