8 WWE Stars Who Have Rescued Their Careers

4. Buddy Murphy

As happy as he surely was for his gal, Buddy Murphy must've wanted the kind of main roster success Alexa Bliss had when he was grinding on NXT house shows. Coming out of the Blake and Murphy tag-team though, that didn't look likely; the dude only had one televised match in 2017.

Then, something changed. Namely, Murphy's entire look.

Buddy should get a round of applause for working on his body, tightening up his stomach, tweaking his presentation (that 1980s-style long hair was gone) and pushing WWE to put him on 205 Live. He updated his entire aesthetic in the span of a few months, made suggestions to creative and forced the issue.

Good on him, because he was doing nothing of note before taking matters into his own hands. Had Murphy not pressured WWE into using him properly, then he may have been working the indy circuit by mid-2018 instead of loving life as Cruiserweight Champ.
