8 WWE Superstars Who Are Miscast In Their Current Roles

2. Randy Orton

It's no secret that Randy Orton has always preferred to portray a heel and there's a reason for that: he is infinitely more interesting in that role. As a babyface, his matches are just as good, but his character work and promos are the equivalent to watching grass grow.

Orton's latest run as a face showed promise at the beginning when he exited The Authority and was seemingly having more fun by allowing his personality to shine through for a change, but his last year in WWE has been dreadful. From a failed feud with Bray Wyatt to a series of uninspiring matches with Jinder Mahal, fewer stars have had a more disappointing 2017 than him.

It will be difficult for him to escape this rut he's been in unless he turns heel. The simple explanation would be that he's sick of falling short when it matters most and being overshadowed by the up-and-coming talent, such as Shinsuke Nakamura. They have had a soft alliance in recent weeks anyway, and Orton officially turning on him is inevitable.

Babyface Randy Orton is just another body on the roster, but when heel Randy Orton sinks his teeth into something, he's a treat to watch.
