This Sundays bout will be the 72nd elimination match (not counting the 2002 Elimination Chamber match, as it was not a traditional Survivor Series match). Of the 71 Survivor Series matches to date, five have been womens elimination matches, one of which was a 7-on-7 bout last years Total Divas versus True Divas. The largest mens SS matches were two 10-tag-team (20-man) elimination matches, which took place at the first two Survivor Series PPVs in 1987 and 88. If at least two wrestlers enter their first Survivor Series elimination match on Sunday (and it looks like Ryback, Rusev and Luke Harper all will be in their first), then WWE will have eclipsed 300 different wrestlers competing in at least one SS match. As of today, 298 wrestlers (45 women) have fought in an elimination match. Shawn Michaels has competed in the most Survivor Series matches, entering 11 of them. The next closest is a three-way tie between Davey Boy Smith, Kane and Randy Orton with eight, though Kane is scheduled to enter his ninth SS match on Sunday. Big Show will be in his eighth elimination match. By comparison, 112 men (and 39 women) have competed in only one Survivor Series match.
