2. Sami Zayn & Becky Lynch's Birthday Blues

The Mixed Match Challenge was a surprisingly enjoyable concept during a period in WWE history where the idea of mere enjoyment felt almost entirely outlawed.

A deal with Facebook Live called for Raw and SmackDown to put together a mixed tag team tournament featuring heels and babyfaces from the male and female divisions that might not necessarily interact, and the results made of some of the most real-feeling moments in the entire company.

This provided such gems as Asuka trying to ensure her team with Miz does well so not to snap her undefeated streak, Sasha Banks getting to sample Finn Bálor's iconic entrance, and, in 2018, a losing effort from "The Ginger Snaps" Zayn and Lynch. With the former still a heel and the latter a babyface, a post-match promo lamenting their loss found the future WrestleMania main eventers disagreeing over whether or not to blame the fans.

Becky eventually won Sami round, convincing him that it was probably the birthday cake they'd consumed earlier that did it. Zayn exasperatedly mentioning the cake shop was it for Lynch - she couldn't hold back as he straight-faced his way through the rest of the speech.

He clearly loved pushing it as far as he could knowing he wouldn't break. It'd come in handy a few years later...
