9 Most Disappointing Wrestling Dream Matches
4. Triple H Vs. Sting (WrestleMania 31)
Triple H's WrestleMania 31 date with Sting, in all fairness, probably wasn't a dream match to anyone not named Triple H - but it was a dream, all the same, to see the WCW icon finally take to a WWE ring.
And yet, for many fans, the match was tinged with a disappointment - disappointment that can't be entirely explained by the inescapable spectre of The Undertaker who - in the eyes of most - was the man Sting really ought to have faced in his WrestleMania bow.
Nominally, it was fought under Extreme Rules, yet it took them quite a long time to reach for their trademark weapons, and when they did - though it resulted in a cool showdown - there was precious little time in the match for them to really inflict serious punishment.
And then there was the still head-scratching decision to have Triple H go over in Stinger's first ever match under Vince McMahon's employ, which seemed to be solely in aid of having WWE come out on top in the nWo vs. D-Generation X subplot (which, in 2015, few had much appetite for).
