A third-generation Diva, Natalya is an immensely talented in-ring performer. Thus, it should have come as no surprise to anyone that she would be involved in what many consider the best women's match of the year in WWE. What is surprising is that she accomplished the feat with a still relatively inexperienced Charlotte. At NXT Takeover, in the finals of a tournament to crown a new women's champion, Natalya showcased her considerable in-ring ability, working a submission-based match against the rookie Diva. Ultimately, it was Charlotte who emerged victorious following Natural Selection but Natalya again proved why she is among the most respected performers in the Divas locker room. But her year should not be defined by that one outstanding match. No, for Natalya, 2014 will forever be as much about her role as a modern day Miss Elizabeth as anything she accomplished in her in-ring career. Tyson Kidd's ascension in NXT came as an egotistical and arrogant villain. As such, it was only natural that he would become jealous of the many accomplishments of his significant other. "Nattie's husband" chants infiltrated Kidd's matches, infuriating the top contender to the NXT title. Natalya was innocent in the whole ordeal, taken advantage of by her husband and used to help him secure victories. That has segued from NXT to Raw and SmackDown now as Kidd has become more and more involved with Natalya's matches and their outcomes.
