7. Baron Corbin Vs. Bobby Roode
This one may seem like a match put together for the sole sake of living up to the PPV’s name, but based on events from this past week’s SmackDown, it seems the company is at least trying to put some meaning behind it.
During the lumberjack match pitting the New Day against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin inadvertently clobbered Bobby Roode with a forearm after attempting to take out Zayn. Naturally, a melee broke out, which will presumably be enough to kick-start a feud that’ll likely put them on a collision course for a meeting at Clash of Champions for Corbin’s US Title.
In fairness, it’s a programme that ticks all the necessary boxes, with a natural face versus heel dynamic and being a fresh feud that we haven't seen before—either in NXT or on the main roster.
It could also be a good chance to set Roode up for a run with a belt (albeit one from the mid-card) after his main roster call-up has slowly but surely stuttered in recent weeks.
