9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jun 9)

4. Who Attacked Trey?

Last week's show was due to be main evented by Ace Austin vs. Trey to determine the next contender for Tessa Blanchard's World Championship. However, a pre-match assault backstage led to Trey's Rascalz partner Wentz taking his spot in the tournament finals instead, eventually losing to 'The One True Ace'. With many potential culprits, it creates a highly interesting angle that could result in some drastic consequences for the attacker.

Ace was reportedly seen heading to the bathroom moments before Trey was ambushed, ruling him out. Wentz fully believes the attackers were Reno Scum, Ace's two cronies, while The North are under the impression that it was Wentz himself who attacked Trey in a bid to become the first of The Rascalz to be Impact World Champion. Needless to say, this could very well turn into a huge story arc if treated correctly.

Perhaps have the man/men behind it unveiled at Slammiversary? Impact teased several recently released WWE stars at the culmination of last week's show. What a way to debut a new star (or welcome back a former star, depending) by having them revealed as Trey's attacker.
