9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jun 9)
3. One Vs. All
Tessa Blanchard still isn't back on our screens just yet, putting her position as the reigning World Champion into question. However, her return match has been confirmed for the 18 July Slammiversary pay-per-view, with her title on the line against Ace Austin, Michael Elgin, Eddie Edwards, and Trey in one of the biggest - figuratively and literally - main events in Impact history.
The announcement, made by Scott D'Amore, obviously antagonised 'The One True Ace', the winner of the number one contender's tournament. While Ace does have a point, every aspect of the match makes perfect sense when you lay it all out. Ace won the tournament, while Elgin and Edwards are both still owed a title match following the cancellation of their Rebellion match. As for Trey, he was taken out of the tournament after being mysteriously assaulted before the finals, and therefore didn't get a fair opportunity.
We've got just one match announced, but Slammiversary is already looking set to be one hell of a pay-per-view for Impact Wrestling. Add in the buzz surrounding the recent WWE releases, and you've got plenty to be talking about regarding the show. It's ticking all the right boxes thus far.
