How many one-on-one ladder matches do you think there have been in WWE history? Dozens? Just when you think youve seen everything in a match, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor came along Saturday night and managed to deliver a fresh matchup with innovative spots. Instead of relying on the ladder for the bulk of the match, neither man was able to get his hands on a ladder until several minutes into the match, and even then the ladders only factored into a portion of the match, avoiding the cliché of multiple slow climbs up the ladder. Balor channeled his inner Jeff Hardy, hitting a Coup de Grace from the top of the ladder onto a prone Owens. That turned out to be enough to KO Owens and allow Finn to retrieve the title. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KEljbjxBHw Like the co-main event, this match easily could be dropped onto Sundays SummerSlam broadcast and it wouldnt look one bit out of place. Thats a very good sign for the future.
