9 WWE Championship Wins That Were Completely Overshadowed

1. Daniel Bryan - WrestleMania XXX

WrestleMania XXX ended exactly as it should have, with Daniel Bryan stood in the centre of the ring, a title belt on each shoulder as confetti rained around him. Tears were streaming down the eyes of many, and the story of the power of passion and ability over corruption was complete. Our hero had won, our hero was champion, our hero was The Hero.

The only problem was that Daniel Bryan defeating Evolution in one single evening was somewhat overshadowed by the biggest shock in WrestleMania history. Just a few matches earlier Brock Lesnar had achieved the impossible by defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania, becoming the one in 21 and one.

It was the most monumental moment in WrestleMania history, and nothing short of a miracle would have stopped it from being the most newsworthy thing to come out of WrestleMania XXX. Bryan's win was a wonderful, beautiful thing, but 'Taker losing at the Showcase of the Immortals was enough to overshadow just about anything.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
