AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen

8. William Regal Pulls Wheeler Yuta Out

Christ knows why the six-man trios bout pitting Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki vs. Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta and Shota Umino is even happening. Of all the exhibition bouts at Forbidden Door, this is definitely the strangest; there's no storyline tie beyond Kingston vs. JAS.

Enter one William Regal to add more.

The well-spoken Englishman would point towards Bryan Danielson's injury at Double Or Nothing and say he can't risk more of his Blackpool Combat Club troops getting hurt at the hands of Jericho. So, just because he bloody well can, Regal would pull Wheeler out of the six-man and make it a handicap.

Why not try this? It's hardly like anyone is ordering the pay-per-view to see this match anyway, and it'd fit the narrative build towards Blood & Guts (whilst also simultaneously giving JAS a much-needed edge). Regal loves competition, but he'd be concerned by the overall health of his faction.
