AEW's Chris Jericho Files Trademark For "GFY"

Expect to be hearing plenty more of this phrase on AEW programming.

For those thinking that Chris Jericho hung onto his "GFY" line a little longer than needed on last week's AEW Dynamite, it looks as if that term is going to become a staple of Le Champion's lexicon from here on out.

In case you missed it, that episode of Dynamite saw things get a smidge heated when Eddie Kingston interrupted a backstage Jericho promo. As the segment ended, the Inner Circle leader said "GFY" to the Mad King... which presumably means "go f**k yourself".

Now, Jericho has filed to trademark "GFY" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office - meaning that the Demo God will likely be spouting this phrase whenever he's on AEW programming, not to mention those three letters will surely be adorning a whole slew of new merchandise.

This trademark filing was made on 13 January, with this official "GFY" request covering the following bases:

Mark For: GFY trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler, podcaster, or musician; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler, podcaster, or musician; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler, podcaster, or musician; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestler, podcaster, or musician in the field of professional wrestling, podcasting, or music for entertainment purposes.

As it stands, Chris Jericho doesn't have an announced match for tomorrow's outing for AEW Dynamite, although one has to imagine the inaugural AEW World Champion will be on the show in some form or fashion - with an eventual battle with the aforementioned Eddie Kingston seemingly on the horizon.
