All 12 WWE NXT Women's Champions Ranked Worst To Best
2. Asuka
Asuka's rise through NXT is something professional wrestling had rarely seen before, and possibly will never see again. The former Kana arrived in the black and gold brand to much acclaim on 23 September 2015 and would soon after make her debut, kickstarting an unparalleled winning streak. After going undefeated in her first 51 matches - the only match she didn't win being a battle royal - Asuka became the number one contender for Bayley's NXT Women's Championship.
At Takeover: Dallas, The Empress of Tomorrow dethroned Bayley to become just the fifth NXT Women's Champion in history, putting an end to the Four Horsewomen era of the brand. Winning the title was just the beginning for Asuka, who would have the longest singular title reign in NXT history at 522 days. Nia Jax, Sonya Deville, Bayley, Mickie James, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Nikki Cross, Ruby Riott and Ember Moon would all try and fail to end the undefeated streak of Asuka.
On top of her lengthy championship reign, Asuka was able to travel the world with WWE, defending the NXT Women's Championship several times in her home of Japan. After defeating Moon for a second time, it was announced that the hard-hitting veteran would be moved up to the WWE main roster. As a result of this, General Manager William Regal would force her to relinquish her prize, putting an end to the most dominant run in the history of NXT.
