WWE's Charlotte Flair is currently on the shelf for an indefinite time period, having been written off television following a Raw assault by Nia Jax a few weeks ago.

This kayfabe incident was followed by reports that she was taking a break to undergo surgery. Return estimates varied from story to story, however, with some sources claiming she'd be back for SummerSlam 2020 (23 August) and others suggesting a longer absence, perhaps stretching as far as Royal Rumble 2021.

Dave Meltzer spoke about the matter on yesterday's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He stated that everything is up in the air with regards to Flair's comeback as while WWE hopes to have her back for SummerSlam, the type of surgery she is getting complicates this. Charlotte has revealed that she is going under the knife to fix an issue stemming from previous corrective surgery relating to her breast implants.

Muddying matters further is Charlotte's upcoming television work, with Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin tweeting the following:-

No further details have been revealed yet, though it sounds like a pretty big deal - and perhaps something that could keep 'The Queen' sidelined for longer than originally anticipated.
