Fightful Select have published an update on Mel, who hasn't been used by All Elite Wrestling since August 2020.

The report states that Mel hasn't been backstage in the promotion lately and isn't currently part of any imminent creative plans. While there's no indication that she has been let go by AEW, company officials stated that Mel is currently prospering in her day job away from the squared circle.

Mel's CAGEMATCH profile shows she has worked four indie dates in 2021, having reverted to her previous ring name, Melanie Cruise. She last competed at a CCW event on 29 May.

25 August 2020 brought Mel's last AEW appearance, as she scored a two-minute victory over Red Velvet on an episode of Dark. It's interesting to compare their situations since then, given that Velvet is now a former AEW Women's Title challenger with a 17-4 record in 2021.

Mel is best known for her role in AEW's Nightmare Collective stable, having been brought into the ill-fated group by Brandi Rhodes and Awesome Kong in December 2019. The group lasted just two months beyond that and was quietly disbanded in February 2020.
