The Raw After WrestleMania yields another shocking development.

On last night's episode of Raw, WWE rebounded into form by harnessing the old, game-changing power of the Raw After WrestleMania.

It was something Paul Levesque, otherwise widely celebrated by WWE fans, hadn't mastered upon taking over from the disgraced Vince McMahon back in 2022. Amongst many headlines, just 24 hours after she made her successful return, Becky Lynch turned heel on partner (and now former co-WWE Women's Tag Team champion) Lyra Valkyria. After a very short reign, the new champions are Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

Lynch, who had replaced Bayley at WrestleMania, watched on as Lyra took the pin in the televised rematch. This followed a miscommunication of sorts, when Rodriquez bumped Lyra into Becky, who could not make the save. Unable to sanction the loss of the title, Becky turned on Lyra and beat her down in the post-match of a well-received contest.

While the story beats were burned through rather quickly, the ends could very well justify the means. Lyra, who has won two WWE titles in 2025 thus far - the Women's Tag and the Women's Intercontinental, which she still holds - is obviously very well-liked by WWE management. This is a promising vehicle with which to get her all the way over.

This is a retread of an effective development that unfolded in NXT in 2023. Across two key, lengthy matches, at No Mercy and Halloween Havoc respectively, Becky Lynch in a great, underrated run helped establish Tiffany Stratton and Valkyria, who won the NXT Women's title at Becky's expense.

Should this series translate on the main roster, Valkyria - who has entered a string of very good performances without generating loud responses on a consistent basis - could very well become a new, prominent star. Will Lyra Valkyria step up and become one of the best wrestlers in the world?

That, seemingly, is WWE's long-term goal here.
