Bobby Lashley has been stuck on WWE's injury reserve since shortly after the 15 July episode of Raw, with Fightful reporting a three-month absence and an anticipated return date of 2 November.

Now, it looks like 'The All Mighty' is trying to generate hype for an ahead-of-schedule comeback.

It started with him posting this phoenix gif on Tuesday afternoon:-

The following day saw Lashley say this as a response to a fan suggesting he interfere in next week's Kofi Kingston vs. Brock Lesnar match:-

So, could Lashley be set to return to WWE television as soon as next Friday's SmackDown on FOX? The usual caveats apply here - wrestlers are always working, pinch of salt, etc. - but it's possible that his recuperation has gone better than expected.

The former Intercontinental Champion was injured at an unfortunate time, having just concluded a fun feud with Braun Strowman. It looked like WWE had finally figured out how to present him as a hyper-athletic monster when he was struck down. Let's hope that they haven't forgotten this in his absence, and that Lashley is able to make a big impact on Raw or SmackDown.
