Brock Lesnar Wants Jon Jones Fight
Universal Champion responds to war of words.
Brock Lesnar has confirmed he is interested in fighting Jon Jones, fueling speculation that a return to UFC could be imminent (via Figure Four Online).
The reigning WWE Universal Champion was reported to have met with UFC officials earlier this month over a possible fight at the end of 2017.
But Lesnar - who, it was announced this week, will defend his title against three others at SummerSlam - had, until now, been tight-lipped about the possibility of stepping back into the Octagon.
Associated Press has now quoted the former UFC Heavyweight Champion as saying: "Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere."
Fans will be unsurprised that the fiercely competitive 40-year-old would relish the chance of taking on Jones, who is busy fighting Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight title this Saturday.
However, the Beast Incarnate is purportedly under contract with WWE until after WrestleMania 34, an event in which it is thought he will play a leading role.
Lesnar last fought in UFC one year ago against Mark Hunt, a win that was over-turned when he allegedly failed a drug test.
He is currently serving a suspension from the sport, which could - theoretically - be lifted later this year should he commit to regular testing.
