CM Punk: His 8 Greatest WrestleMania Moments

3. Two Times - WrestleMania 25

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1gke4p_money-in-the-bank-ladder-match-wwe-wrestlemania-xxv-25-2009-4-5-09-full-match_sport After his first championship reign died a slow, miserable death, Punk was entered into 2009's Money in the Bank match at WrestleMania 25. It appeared as though he was entered into the match so he had something to do, so that he was not left off the card. In reality, the company had much bigger plans for him than they did a year earlier. With a better field of Superstars, the competition was much stiffer than it was when Punk walked away with the briefcase in Orlando. With former and future World Heavyweight champions such as Kane, Mark Henry and Christian providing competition, not to mention the dynamic Kofi Kingston and Shelton Benjamin, the veteran Finlay and MVP filling out the remainder of the field, it was much more difficult for Punk to navigate his way to victory. But he did, sending fan favorite Christian to the mat and winning his second, consecutive Money in the Bank match. The victory made history as no competitor had ever won the match two years in a row. Punk would cash in on Jeff Hardy, who was arguably the most popular star in wrestling, before turning heel and engaging in a months-long feud with the enigmatic star. Their program was one of the best in SmackDown history and proved to Vince McMahon, the creative team and the fans that Punk was a much better villain than hero.
