3. Relationship With Brie Was Born Out Of Geekiness
Shortly after the whole Nexus vs. Team WWE debacle at SummerSlam, the promotion's creative team were looking for something a little different to do with Daniel Bryan. In short, the man clearly had excellent in-ring skills, but the feeling was that his character was fairly non-existent, and his personality bland, so something had to be done.
This is where The Bella Twins entered Bryan's life, specifically Brie. Booked into a storyline which would see him become quite the ladies man, Daniel tells in his book how he felt fairly awkward about the whole thing, because he hadn't had much interaction with the WWE Divas before the angle started, and definitely wasn't a 'Jack The Lad' kind of dude.
Instead of charming all the ladies with his pulling skills, Bryan instead found kinship with Brie Bella, who seemed unlike everyone else on the roster. She was quirky, just as he was, and the pair found themselves spending more and more time together, before eventually dating. The duo used to go to museums together as friends, and sit talking about the world's problems for hours, leading Brie's sister Nikki to declare them "weird".
