11. Chris Jericho Vs. Kenny Omega (Double Or Nothing 2019)

This is the problem.

The quality of All Elite Wrestling's pay-per-view headliners is that we expect so much now. In turn, it causes matches like Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho from Double or Nothing 2019, which was actually quite decent, to rank low on lists such as this.

It was indeed a hoot. Not quite as big a hoot as their initial Wrestling Kingdom 12 banger, but a hoot nonetheless. The match did, however, have glimpses of the New Japan style in there. Kenny Omega, for example, kneed the sh*t out of Jericho's head with a V-Trigger, while Omega took a brutal neck bump on the apron fairly early on in the match. It had the feel of New Japan lite, if you will.

The only major aspect holding the match back a spot or two is its ending. Jericho knocked Omega off his feet with a stiff Codebreaker, followed by the Judas Effect - at that point, his new finish. The match just ended. The Las Vegas audience wasn't too sure how to react as, at the time, the Judas Effect looked about as meaningful as John Cena's Lightning Fist. Omega sold it beautifully in fairness, and the Judas Effect is now a beloved finisher, but for the whole match, it wasn't quite right.
