Every Current Champion In WWE (And Who Should Beat Them)

Champion: Becky Lynch

Who Should Beat Her: Bayley

Nikki Bella looks likely to challenge Becky Lynch for the Women's Intercontinental Title sooner rather than later. The Diva throwback returnee worked a fun back and forth verbal spat with 'The Man' on the 4 August edition of Raw, but she'll be less of a threat to the belt than some backstage might wish to believe. If nothing else, at least Bella has credibility and tenure to back up her tough talk.

Becks will surely be champ for a lengthy stretch though. She's the true matriarch of the division in that equation, not Nikki, and Lynch can work better matches against all comers than Bella can. Also, someone else is lingering in the background just waiting for her next big break: Bayley.

Pre-SummerSlam, WWE made a big song and dance about Bayley missing out on a match across both nights in New Jersey. She made her mark anyway by running on the match between Becky and Lyra Valkyria, but Bayley's interference would end up costing Lyra the bout and her right to challenge Lynch for the title again. Is that enough to turn Bayley heel again? Nah, not quite.

She'd have some amount of Sami Zayn-esque babyface fire behind her as a baby backed into a corner by WWE booking. If Bayley trauma dumps that exposition onto Becky and says she "needs" to win the Women's IC Title for her own sanity, then we could have quite the tale on our hands.

This is something WWE could ride all the way through to Survivor Series or Royal Rumble, if need be. Or, Bayley could win the Women's IC Title at WrestleMania 42 if creative can find other speed bump challengers like Bella in the interim to keep Lynch busy.
