How He Won It: The Rated-R Superstar won the inaugural MITB ladder match - also featuring Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Kane, Christian and concept creator Chris Jericho - at WrestleMania 21.

It was a total banrstormer, with the Ultimate Opportunist knocking the Rabid Wolverine off the top of the ladder with a steel chair shot, en route to claiming the briefcase.

The second time Edge 'won' the briefcase was by jumping and beating an injured Mr. Kennedy in an impromptu match on Raw.

What He Did With It: Edge cashed-in his first MITB briefcase on John Cena at the climax of 2006's New Years Revolution pay-per-view, after Big Match John had competed in a gruelling Elimination Chamber. It was a great moment, and set the tone for cash-ins to come.

The second time, he cashed-in on an injured Undertaker following The Deadman's brutal steel cage match with Batista on the May 11, 2007 episode of Smackdown.

Effect On Career: Edge's initial cash-in was exactly what was needed for him to break through the so-called glass ceiling. He'd been threatening to do so for some time, but finally joined the main event club proper on that night. His first run was, unfortunately, a transitional one, but the great ratings spoke for themselves and Edge found himself back in the mix later in the year.
