Goldberg Teases Possible WWE Return
Is the former WCW Champion on his way back, or just working the internet?
Bill Goldberg has only been absent from WWE television for little over two months, but the former Universal Champion is already teasing a comeback. Goldberg posted a photograph from a DirectTV photo shoot on Instagram late last week, including the hashtags "whosnext," "imnext," and "neversaynever."
Goldberg's last WWE appearance came at WrestleMania 33, when he lost the Universal Championship to Brock Lesnar. He seemingly retired in an untelevised segment after Raw the following night, but has since stated that returning to the ring isn't an impossibility, with this being his strongest tease yet.
His title reign lasted just 28 days in total, and he mustered less than 10 minutes of ring time from October to April. While Goldberg's latest comeback wasn't without its critics, the run was a big success for WWE. Raw's ratings regularly spiked whenever he was around, and his win over 'The Beast Incarnate' at Survivor Series 2016 was one of the year's most shocking moments.
If Goldberg is planning on returning, it would explain why his farewell promo went unaired. Furthermore, he never explicitly stated that his wrestling days were over, merely implied it - leaving the door open for a potential comeback.
