Kurt Angle Reveals Why He Missed WWE Raw Legends Night

Kurt Angle was one of several advertised wrestlers who didn't show up for WWE Raw's Legends Night.

Kurt Angle was absent from last week's WWE Raw special, Legends Night, despite the promotion advertising his appearance ahead of time.

Why wasn't the Olympian at the event? Because he had a prior engagement that he couldn't get out of, according to the WWE Hall of Famer himself during a recent Q&A session on his Facebook page.

Carlito and Candice Michelle found themselves in a similar situation last week. Regarding the former, it was reported after the show that WWE had "jumped the gun" on announcing that he'd be at Legends Night, with a follow-up story stating that Carlito had no interest in travelling cross-country for a quick one-off appearance. Michelle, meanwhile, claimed that WWE "falsely promoted" her for the event, adding that WWE never even asked her to attend despite using her likeness in promotional materials.

Legends Night was at least a short-term business success for WWE, popping Raw's highest rating in close to a full year. That pattern with these things, however, is that viewership returns to normal the following week, once the legends are gone. We'll likely see a drop-off when the numbers for tonight's episode of Raw emerge tomorrow.
