NXT Wrestlers Score HUGE Pay Rises Thanks To TV Deal
The USA Network deal is paying big dividends for NXT stars.
NXT's transition from the WWE Network to USA Network resulted in big pay rises for a number of the black and gold brand's wrestlers in late 2019.
This is according to a new report from Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, whose writeup doesn't contain specific names, but does state that while the new salaries aren't quite "Raw or SmackDown money," they are "substantial for those that ended up signing them compared to what they were making before."
On top of this, Sapp writes that most of the wrestlers signed new three-year deals with WWE.
October 2019 brought reports of discontent in the NXT locker-room, with indie wrestler David Starr claiming several friends on the roster had told him they weren't getting pay bumps despite the move to USA. Clearly, this has now been rectified.
Good news all-round, then. There are now more eyes on NXT than ever before and if these wrestlers are bringing more money into WWE, it's only right that they're rewarded. Here's hoping that their new salaries reflect their efforts and output.
As for the names involved? These may never be divulged, though it might be checking social media accounts to see if anyone has bought a flashy new car or house lately...
