One Iconic Moment For Every Year Of The Undertaker's WWE Career

25. 1996 - Buried Alive

Things got a little more interesting for a now-maskless Undertaker in 1996, although he was still facing workplace hazards left, right, and centre.

Thankfully, these ones were scripted.

In Your House 11 had the subtitle "Buried Alive" and that wasn't talking about The Kliq squashing people. It was making reference to the show's main event - the first ever "Buried Alive" match between The Undertaker and Mankind.

Their feud had been escalating throughout '96 and now it was time for the two icons to settle their beef once and for all. Once again, despite the match type being very much suited to The Phenom, things didn't end well.

At least it was only five people who interfered this time, as the likes of Goldust, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and Terry Gordy (?) shovelled dirt onto 'Taker's prone body.

However, as we saw in '94, never count The Undertaker out for long.

As the villains walked from the graveside, a bolt of lightning struck the headstone. Then, a gloved hand shot up through the earth, writhing around in search of oxygen.

The Undertaker was still alive.

Not only is this an all-time great wrestling visual, but it added yet another wrinkle to The Undertaker's ever-growing lore.
