One MIND-BLOWING Secret For Every WWE SummerSlam
1. 2025 | WWE Took The Safe Option
WWE, at time of writing, is in a lull period. The boom is over. The beginning of the end was initiated at the big Raw Is Netflix premiere, a masturbatory show that weirdly congratulated itself for accomplishing very little. Both WrestleMania 41 and WrestleMania 42 were savaged critically for no less than three awful celebrity involvements in two main events. TKO panicked, overcomplicating the simple-but-effective booking that drove the resurgence in the first place, and now that same simplicity feels very stale. It’s as if Triple H knows that he’s dropped several clangers, and prefers now to play things safe. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are still on top. The next line of potential headliners, namely Bron Breakker and Jacob Fatu, no longer feel like guaranteed ‘Mania main eventers. They’ve absorbed a few too many losses.
WWE had several opportunities to go with Breakker. You could easily argue that he isn’t ready - he botches at a very inopportune moment in every one of his big matches - but WWE fans are growing disenchanted and frustrated regardless. One such opportunity arose at SummerSlam 2025.
In July 20025, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE scrapped the original idea to book Reigns Vs. Breakker in a singles contest; instead, Roman teamed with Jey Uso to take on Breakker and Bronson Reed.
This didn’t happen, and it’s not hard to infer the reason why. WWE is a risk-averse company, and Triple H seems to lack the authority and cojones to issue bold creative to his top stars.
