Ever since Edge turned blue (dah bah dee dah bah die - one for the '90s kids there), we've started to dread whenever he shows up on RAW.
Which is insane. This is Edge! One of the most over, most charismatic performers of his generation and the protagonist of wrestling's greatest ever comeback story. Every time he appears on TV should be an excuse to turn up the volume, not change the channel.
But this character... Oof. Nothing about this is working. At all. There's more to being a convincing villain than having a holier-than-thou attitude and using polysyllabic words, and nothing Edge has done since turning to the dark side has been remotely compelling.
Edge's upcoming match against AJ Styles should be a banger to watch, but if Edge continues with his low-rent Hannibal Lecter act then his post-'Mania work will suffer greatly for it.
