Predicting The Next Holder Of Every Active WWE Championship

Currently held by: Roman Reigns.

The second of Roman Reigns' currently-held championships, the WWE Championship will be the sole focus of Cody Rhodes eventually but first, it must go through a face very familiar to the American Nightmare.

Predicted next champion: Seth Rollins.

WWE is going to go back to Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins. Given the success of their initial rivalry and the manner in which the former was written off WWE programming in June, they simply can't ignore it - but it can't be their go-to direction when Cody's healthy to come back.

The WWE strap has to go to Seth Rollins. As mentioned in the prior entry, it plants the required seeds for Cody to go after Seth again. In-story, he may want to venture elsewhere. He's 2-1 over Rollins. He's got nothing else to prove.

But if Seth Rollins has the one championship that he's already admitted both on and off-screen is the reason he wanted to return to WWE, then Cody Rhodes needs to chase him again.

Saying on the 26 December 2022 Monday Night Raw:-

"I think anyone who is a fan of what we do can read between the lines. There is one thing I came back for specifically, one thing. And again, a torn pec couldn't stop me, I couldn't name anything that can stop me. It has to be done, it needs to be done, and I want to get it done."

Cody Rhodes is winning the WWE Championship. He's just not its next holder.
