This week, AJ Styles reiterated his desire to retire from pro wrestling at the end of his current WWE contract in 5 years. This would take him up to 46 years of age, although judging by the man's in-ring output over the last few years, you'd never guess he was north of 40. When he does retire, he'll have one of the most impressive wrestling CV's in North American history.

Last year's number 2 hasn't been out of PWI's top 5 since 2013 (a year when Bully Ray came 4th and Ryback (!!!) was somehow 13th) and has been a symbol of consistency in Impact, New Japan, and now WWE. His style has evolved as the years have clocked by, but he still retains a position as a main-event innovator in a company with 10x the workload of his previous employers.

This years Money in the Bank barnstormer with Seth Rollins reminded everybody what he's capable of, and he's genuinely seemed to relish working with the younger, more agile, Ricochet. Future runs with both of WWE's top belts should be on the cards, but in truth he's vital the company wherever he is on the card.
