Ranking 10 Best WWE Raw Episodes Of 2015

8. May 18, 2015

The Highlights: The 2015 Payback pay-per-view may go down as one of the more underrated events of the year for its fantastic Fatal 4-Way main event and surprisingly entertaining "I Quit" match between John Cena and Rusev. But the follow-up the next night on Raw was even better, highlighted by the shocking debut of Kevin Owens during Cena's U.S. Open Challenge. Instead of vying for the title, Owens sent a powerful message by laying out Cena, setting the stage for their Elimination Chamber encounter. Although the star-spangled prize wasn't defended that night, two other titles were. The New Day defended the WWE Tag Team Championship in another enjoyable affair with Cesaro and Tyson Kidd while Nikki Bella took on Naomi for the Divas Championship. Both bouts ended in a disqualification, but the latter match saw the long-awaited return of Paige to WWE TV. In other action, Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt contested a pretty solid matchup. The Low Points: This was the night the infamous angle involving Dolph Ziggler, Rusev and Lana began. It was an intriguing series of events at the time when Lana left Rusev for Ziggler, but it was a major miss in retrospect considering what it later led to. Furthermore, the two title matches, while acceptable, had awful finishes. It would have been fine if one of the matches ended in such a fashion, but two disqualifications were overkill.
