Ranking 10 WWE Pay-Per-View Main Events Post-Lockdown From Worst To Best
3. WrestleMania 36 - Brock Lesnar (c) Vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE Championship)
Full disclosure: I had planned this list out with WrestleMania in the top spot, with the dual main events being must-see in their own special ways. However, using two matches for one pay-per-view is cheating, and if we're honest, Lesnar vs. McIntyre was the match that lost the most from being played out in silence.
Watching it back, it's a traditional Brock Lesnar dropping the title kind of match: a finisher spamming sprint from bell to bell. While this would still be fine with a full house of 'Mania fans, an empty Performance Centre just didn't give this contest the feel it deserved. It still ranks highly because of the brilliant booking of Drew leading up to and including this match; kicking out of the first F-5 at one was tremendous.
On the plus side, Brock made Drew look like a born champion with this performance, coupled with his reaction to being booted out of the Royal Rumble match by a well-placed Claymore. This match capped off Drew's excellent rise to the title picture; tragically reaching the mountaintop with no fans to greet his arrival, but his big moment will come in time.
