Who is the most underrated professional wrestler of the last 40 years? You could throw a whole host of names into that bucket, and I’m adding Tully Blanchard’s name to that list. One of the original Horsemen, Blanchard was already a bona-fide star in the National Wrestling Alliance when winter 1995 rolled around after high profile feuds with NWA legends Dusty Rhodes and Magnum TA. If you’re looking to go back and check up on these feuds be aware; there is a lot of blood.

Tully’s time as a Horseman was mostly spent in the tag team division, winning the NWA titles on a couple of occasions with Arn Anderson in the late 1980s before heading to the World Wrestling Federation in 1988. Anderson and Blanchard would taste brief success in the WWF in the tag division, but they weren’t long for that world.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
