2. Hell In A Cell: Frenemies Reunited

Sami Zayn's WWE heel turn has been a complete success.

Repositioned as a smarmy, detestable troll, the former 'Underdog From The Underground' has finally hit a spotlight he was never going to reach as a babyface. They're not wrestling for the WWE Championship, but him and Kevin Owens are SmackDown's biggest act. Almost everything revolves around their war with Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan at the moment, and while their long-term plans are a mystery, the first two months have been prosperous.

It all started with a perfect moment at Hell In A Cell. A hoodie-clad Zayn came out of nowhere during Owens' match with the Commissioner, yanking his long-term rival from an announce table while McMahon soared from the top. Shane was sent crashing through the table, Owens was spared, and the frenemies were reunited for the first time since Ring Of Honor circa 2009.

Nobody saw this coming. Nobody.

The idea of WWE's most naturally likability character turning was preposterous, but it worked perfectly. HIAC closed on an almighty 'WTF?!' moment as a result, with the closing shots of Sami's conflicted face elevating a middling night of matches, and serving as one of 2017's most memorable visuals.
