8. Finn Balor

It’s difficult to believe that Finn Balor disappeared from the main roster for nearly two years, leaving after SummerSlam 2019, resurfacing in NXT and remaining there until July 2021.

A former Universal and Intercontinental Champion, Balor certainly had the pedigree when he returned to the main roster this summer, and he was pushed as an upper-midcarder, even earning a Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns, which he lost (in embarrassing fashion as the Demon).

Since coming over to Raw, Balor has been a mixed bag. He made it to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, but lost to Xavier Woods. He has lost to other superstars along the way, but he’s still treated as an upper-midcard guy.

It’s unlikely we’ll see Finn win a world title anytime soon, but he will likely continue to be a solid and dependable guy who can give main-eventers a run for their money and still put over up-and-comers.
