John Cena’s 11 WWE SummerSlam Matches From Worst To Best
8. 2010 Team WWE Vs. Team Nexus
It's hard not to watch this match and think of it as a prime example of a Cena burial. After mentioning that, there's still a lot of enjoyment that can be had with this 14-man elimination bout without getting frustrated at the disregard of the long-term story that could've been.
First of all, the crowd was hot for this. Even at well over a half an hour there were very few lulls. Everyone in attendance stood pretty much the whole time. Bret Hart, in particular, got a huge reaction. The Edge and Jericho drama against Cena was entertaining as well.
The wrestling was exciting, too. R-Truth turned a suplex into a Stunner variation in one of the matche's more creative spots. Daniel Bryan got a chance to have a late match surge that was fun. And as a personal Heath Slater mark, it brings a smile to my face to go back and see him eliminate both Edge and Chris Jericho.
Those were the days...
What sours this match is the fact that it eventually became a showcase for Super Cena. He only sold a deadly DDT onto concrete for all of a minute before delivering the final eliminations to Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett.
Even so, the crowd in attendance very much loved the Cena win.
