Ranking Bret Hart's UK Moments - From Worst To Best

4. Dino Bravo Vs. Bret Hart (WWF UK Rampage 1989)

Rewind all the way back to 1989, and Bret Hart was locked in battle against Dino Bravo. In his autobiography, Hart was critical of Bravo's in-ring work, airing his opinion that the Canadian strongman could be pretty difficult to work with effectively. As this bout from UK Rampage 1989 came to a close, Hart must have been cursing Bravo.

The original result was a babyface win for Bret, but both he and the approximate 15,000 fans inside the old London Arena would be left disappointed. Bumped from the ring apron to ringside, Bret landed hard on the old steel security barriers. Right in front of fans, he lay in agony, clutching his chest.

It was later revealed that Hart had suffered a broken sternum, an injury that caused him to be counted out of the ring. There's no doubt that the match would have been better had Bret been able to work the conclusion as scheduled, but he's since claimed that the pain was unbearable.

Unable to continue, the Hitman was left with no choice but to seek refuge on the padding of the ringside mats.
