Ranking Every 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match In NXT Ever
5. Adrian Neville Vs. Corey Graves: November 13, 2013
The Wyatt Family were a major force to be reckoned with in NXT upon capturing the NXT Tag Team Championship in the spring of 2013, beating the duo of Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey for the belts. With Grey out injured, Neville searched for a new partner and eventually settled on fellow upstart Corey Graves, with whom he won the twin titles back a short time later.
Once their reign as champions came to an end, Graves wasted no time in turning on Neville, leading to a heated rivalry between the two in the fall. As beloved as Graves was as a babyface, he was even more effective in the heel role, and with a clean submission victory over the England native early on in their feud, he appeared to be headed toward the NXT Championship picture.
But before he could contend for the gold, he had to do away with Neville once and for all in a thrilling 2-out-of-3 Falls match on the November 13 edition of NXT. Graves wisely targeted the already injured knee of Neville throughout the bout and scored the first fall. Neville then battled back and hit his former friend with a Red Arrow to pick up the second fall.
The pace picked up in the third fall, and although Graves came close to securing the win, Neville was somehow able to pull out the upset via a roll-up. And with that they proved that regardless of whether they were partners or opponents, their in-ring chemistry was second to none.
