Ranking Every First Current WWE Champion From Worst To Best
8. Intercontinental Champion - Pat Patterson
History made by a man that would go on to be responsible for more of it involving others beyond himself, the inventor of the Royal Rumble and legendary match agent/finish maestro Pat Patterson was an honourable first chapter in the title's story rather than the story itself.
His legacy was at least protected even when the Championship wasn't - as a known elder statesmen across multiple generations, Patterson installed instant gravitas in the strap thanks to attaching his name to it. He was a weapon in its defence as a Hall Of Famer more so than he ever could have been defending it in the late-1970s.
